About
Who you actually work with
PaWa Data Solutions is a Toronto-based boutique consultancy. Engagements are led by senior practitioners, not handed to junior teams — so it is worth knowing who that is.

Papa S. Nguer
VP of Technical Sales & Engineering, PaWa Data Solutions
Papa S. Nguer is VP of Technical Sales & Engineering at PaWa Data Solutions, a data consultancy he joined as Managing Principal in 2025. Before that he spent fifteen years at Informatica, most recently as Country Manager for Technical Sales in Canada, where he was involved in effectively every Informatica deal in the country and influenced $93M+ in revenue across his final four years.
In that time he ran 300+ customer-facing proving engagements, roughly 55 a year at a 60%+ success rate, for Tier 1 institutions including JPMorgan Chase, PNC, CIBC, Scotiabank, Manulife, Sun Life, CN Rail, Air Canada, and Bell Canada. His depth sits where financial services meets data: KYC and AML, entity resolution, MDM, governance, lineage, and the regulatory reporting that has to survive an audit.
He speaks at ten or more events a year, including DAFS, CDAO Canada, and national road-shows with Deloitte, Accenture, and Microsoft. He is the author of Winning the Moments That Matter, and co-founder and managing board member of the SEN Yakaar Foundation, a Canadian non-profit working on health, education, and community development in Senegal and across Africa.
Born in West Africa and based in Toronto, he has lived on three continents, travelled to 29+ countries, and works in English and French.
The engagements above were delivered at Informatica, before PaWa Data Solutions. They are professional background, not this firm's client work.

Why PaWa exists
Fifteen years on the vendor side is a long time to watch the same pattern repeat: a platform gets bought, a large integrator staffs the project, and eighteen months later the client owns a system nobody internally can explain. The technology was rarely the problem. PaWa was built to do the opposite—small, senior, and actually finished.
What being small changes
Boutique is not a limitation we are apologising for. It changes who does the work, and what you are left holding at the end of it.
Senior access, not senior sales
The person who scopes the engagement is the person who delivers it. Nobody is introduced during the pitch and replaced on day one.
Accountability with a name on it
There is no delivery organisation to absorb a missed commitment. When something slips, you hear it from the person responsible, early.
Vendor neutrality, earned the hard way
Fifteen years selling one vendor's platform is a thorough education in how these tools get positioned. There is no reseller margin here and no partner quota, so the recommendation is just the recommendation.
Built to leave you stronger
Knowledge transfer is a deliverable, not a closing formality. The test of an engagement is whether your team can run and change what was built without us.
How we engage
- Scope tightly. A narrow engagement that finishes beats a broad one that stalls.
- Say what the data actually shows, including when it undermines the plan.
- Design for the team that inherits it, not for the architecture diagram.
- Leave documentation a new hire can follow.
